Damai wall is arguably the most popular outdoor climbing site in KL area owing mostly to the ease of access, car parking and landscaped playground area at the base of the rock, that makes Damai an ideal location for large groups.
Reaching Damai from Jalan Batu Caves can be a navigation challenge the first time. Most direct would be via Lebuh Utama Sri Gombak, though you can also access via TIB3 if you want to venture past Nyamuk and Whitewall on the way. Taxi's will even take you their from downtown KL, just be sure to let the driver know when you pick you up again.
Damai is easily identifiable by the prominent 100m face that towers above the football field. There is a steel stair access to a large cavern about midway up the wall.
For new climbers Damai make for a great place to have your first outdoor experience as you are likely to find many climbers their to show you the ropes, particularly on the weekend. Theres even a kiosk that sells drinks, snacks and will rent you climbing gear if you happen to leave your kit behind.
